A month old RFID startup from Nokia, Finland, Confidex has announced that they will be providing solutions for EPCglobal and ISO standards compliant custom RFID tag design, production and engineering for Packaging and Printing industries. So Outsourcing has finally arrived in RFID World. Confidex offers five Service packages from prototyping tags to Total RFID business solution and everything in between.
Confidex has a strong management backing from CEO Timo Lindström, former president of UPM Rafsec, one of the top 5 tag manufacturers.
Will this business model succeed? Considering the hype involved around RFID, delayed and unclear ROI and other factors, this outsourcing option seems to be very attractive and may speed up wide deployment of RFID. What do you think?
