SBIR funding for a RFID start-up via Dept. of Agriculture

Zigbeef Inc. (derived from Zigbee) founded by John Hassel, plans to use long range active RFID tags on cattle. He believes unlike pallets, cattle are more mobile and must use active tags. He pitched this idea to the Department of Agriculture and was granted Phase I funding of $80,000 and now he is confident of securing Phase II funding of $300,000. Read complete article here:
