SBIR funding for a RFID start-up via Dept. of Agriculture

I came across this extremely detailed RFID project on ExtremeTech via digg, which is based on the book RFID Toys. You can buy it from Amazon. Although it is not something that you seriously want to install on your front door, but this project explains practical uses of RFID.

Self-replicating RFID virus created

Computerworld is reporting the first demo of a self-replicating RFID virus. There is no immediate danger of falsely reported inventory or any other disaster, but it is a heads-up for the companies to be careful and take steps to secure the applications.
